Welcome to Hurst Junior High Engineering
Principles of Applied Engineering is a hands on class where basic engineering vocabulary and skills are taught. Students will learn about various engineering fields and create projects and builds related to that particular field of study. Such projects will be solar cars, wind turbines, airplanes, and rockets. Because students will use power tools and other materials, safety is a priority. With that in mind, students will become certified through a safety course conducted in collaboration with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). This will be a certification that students can take with them into the workforce even as a teenager. Principles of Applied Engineering will give your student a first hand knowledge of the offerings of engineering. Plus, your student will really have fun!
